Job Description: Our client, a defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Contract Specialist (part time hours to start) to work remote from home to support their growing business. The Contract Specialist is responsible for the development, negotiation, execution, and management of contracts. This role ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Development: Draft, review, and revise contracts, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal standards.
  • Negotiation: Engage with vendors, clients, and internal teams to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all contracts adhere to organizational policies and relevant regulations.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain organized records of all contracts and related documents.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contract terms.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with legal, finance, and procurement teams to align contract strategies with organizational goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on contract status, renewals, and compliance issues to management.
  • Training: Provide guidance and training to staff on contract management processes and best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field.
  • Experience in contract management, procurement, or a related area.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and regulations.

Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CCM).
  • Proficiency in contract management software.

Working Conditions:
  • Typically office-based with potential for remote work.
  • May require occasional travel for meetings or training.
