Job Summary
Continuous Improvement champion for the facility, driving operating efficiency and cost reduction through the development of process improvement activities, value stream mapping and implementation of Lean tools and methods.Job Description
Establish, implement, and sustain the Continuous Improvement (CI) Roadmap in order to deliver productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Lead and drive CI across the facility by fostering partnership across department, to ensure adoption of more efficient processes and procedures.
Develop and facilitate training programs in Lean Six Sigma principles, including 6S, TPM and SMED. Coach and mentor team members in the application of best practice CI methods, tools, and methodologies for improved performance.
Maintain process improvement portfolio in support of CI objectives. Organize and facilitate Kaizen events. Lead process improvement teams and recommend business decisions based on statistically sound data.
Develop and implement CI metrics in order to understand current state, and develop return on investment (ROI) for major potential projects.
Manage and lead all phases of the process improvement project lifecycle. Work closely with Operations and Engineering leadership on the selection of process optimization activities and other initiatives.
Facilitate the development of standard work aids, such as process maps, checklists, templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guides in order to cement continuous improvement as a plant culture.
Analyze and interpret historical, current, and projected data to drive activity.
Required Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial).
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience leading continuous improvement activities and initiatives.
Certification
LSS Green Belt.
Skills and Abilities
Leadership, assertiveness, strong team player and ability to influence others.
Effective indirect management, including assisting leadership in the development, training and coaching of team members.
Identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
Experience with Microsoft Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Minitab.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification
LSS Black Belt.
Experience
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated environment.
International Organization of Standardization (ISO) environment, ISO-14385.
SAP.
