Northmarq is offering a Communications Internship for a student studying communications, public relations, or journalism. This is an in-person internship opportunity at the Minneapolis, MN (Bloomington, MN) headquarters office.
Prospective candidates should be interested in gaining first-hand experience in corporate communications, public relations, and copywriting within a fast-paced, growing department for an innovative, market-leading company in commercial real estate.
Position Responsibilities:
- Write internal and external communications, including intranet news, press and social media content
- Prepare corporate website news posts and professional biographies for sales professionals
- Participate in media relations program development, news coverage tracking and reporting
- Provide communications support for summer corporate events or special projects as needed
- Shadow team members serving in corporate communications and public relations roles
- Gain experience using the AP Style Guide and corporate writing styles
- Recent graduate or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing communications, or related field
- MS Office products including Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong time management, priority management skills, and attention to detail and deadlines
- Must be “self-directed” and willing to take initiative
- Photography and multimedia/video skills are a plus, but not required
- Experience in social media, Adobe Photoshop, WordPress, or other web-editing tools is a plus, but not required
