Your Role:
Virtual Employees who independently evaluates, total loss claims from multiple other suffixes (i.e. comp, collision, property damage).
Your work:
- Handles multiple property damage claims, evaluation of auto and motorcycle damage, negotiation of car damage estimates and out of state losses. Handles claims coverage issues over the telephone; preparation and settlement of total loss claims; investigation and settlement of theft and fire claims.
- Handles most commercial product types including but not limited to auto, fleet, general liability, last mile delivery, inland marine, excess & surplus. Will handle claims in many geographic venues.
- Handles claims involving many vehicle types that may include but is not limited to auto, motorcycles, scooters, recreational vehicles, autonomous driving vehicles, autonomous delivery vehicles, remote-controlled delivery vehicles, watercrafts, and trucks.
- Investigate and evaluate auto damage and/or total loss claims.
- Evaluate vehicle damages that require outside field assignments.
- Fully prepare the claim file with the total loss settlements and settle the total loss with the customer and lien-holder.
- Responsible for identifying/recognizing claims coverage and limits issues.
- Write complete estimates on vehicles and determine if they are repairable or a total loss.
- Determines relevant information to properly evaluate the market value of total loss vehicles, including identifying year, make, model, mileage, options, refurbishments, and condition of the vehicle.
- Complies with all regional laws and guidelines to calculate the settlement value of total loss vehicles.
- Completes break even analysis to determine repair threshold.
- Identifies potential fraudulent claims for referral to special investigation unit.
- Resolves claims coverage and limits issues.
- Prepares file for authority review with supervisor or manager.
- Assesses, negotiates and finalizes payment amounts up to settlement authority.
- Fully documents the claim file with all relevant documents, photos, and notes for settlement discussion.
Required Experience, Education and Skills

- Possesses demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of successful progression through job family levels, inclusive of auto-body repair practices and procedures for general auto, commercial, and special lines exposures.
- Strong and effective negotiation skills strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Basic math and computer skills along with the technical aptitude to utilize a variety of software applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a flexible, changing environment
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and goal oriented
- Proficient in ability to write estimates in computerized estimating systems
- Knowledge of auto repair estimates and various estimating systems
- To serve as a physical damage arbitrator, with a minimum of three years of claims adjusting experience is required
- Depending on assignment, will be required to obtain and maintain Adjuster and/or Appraiser license (state-specific)
- Insurance Adjuster License and/or Insurance Appraiser License depending on state
- Ability to interpret policy language and resolve simple claims coverage questions (CCQs)
- Ability to rate condition, run evaluation and to conclude total losses
- Understanding of auto repair estimates and systems

The national average salary range for this position is $62,460 - $. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $57,240 - $63,600. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 7%of eligible pay.
