Summary
This position is located at the Greater Leech Lake Service Unit of the Bemidji Area located in Cass Lake, Minnesota. This Critical Access Hospital provides 24-hour Emergency Room services, Inpatient and Outpatient services to Native American beneficiaries who access care at the Service Unit. The purpose of the position is to provide direct and comprehensive primary, preventive, and therapeutic medical and nursing care to individuals across the lifespan.
Duties
- Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive health services to patients, including provision of emergency medicine & inpatient medical services.
- Takes a complete health and developmental history from the patient and/or family member.
- Performs a physical examination of the patient. Orders and/or performs screening and diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Makes diagnosis and decisions concerning medical and nursing care needs of patients.
- Serves as consultant and provides technical assistance to other health care providers and staff.

Education
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the , , , or an accrediting body recognized by the at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: For Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) positions, applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position.
Licensure
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the . In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Basic Requirements for the GS-13 Grade Level
In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the GS-12 Grade Level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Program development, leading integrated teams, and external collaborations with local, State, and Federal stakeholders.
