Summary

This position is an Administrative Support Assistant, Division of Therapy Department. Location at the Bemidji Area Office, Bemidji, MN. This position reports to the Chief Therapist or designee.

Duties

  • Serves as assistant responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in connection with the management of the administrative offices.
  • Provides clerical support for administrative staff to include producing a variety of documents using word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, calendar, and desktop publisher.
  • Receives telephone and personal callers and utilizes knowledge of organization, programs, operations and procedures to make proper disposition of inquiries. Questions callers to the extent necessary to establish or clarify the nature of the call and information required.
  • Responsible for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proper format of final correspondence and reports.

Background Investigation: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Fingerprint results and background investigation documentation must be cleared prior to hire. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:

GS-05: 4 years above high school OR One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 Grade Level.

GS-06: One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 Grade Level.

GS-07: One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 Grade Level.

Examples of Specialized Experience:
GS-05: Performing clerical work such as preparing, receiving and verifying documents; maintaining office records; and locating and compiling data or information from files and other data sources.

GS-06: Creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; maintaining manual and electronic calendars to add, delete, or change meetings; serving as a receptionist or point-of-contact for an office; and performing data entry into an automated timekeeping system.

GS-07: Managing calendars and meeting schedules for higher level staff; performing specialized office tasks in support of a unit including screening training requests, compiling information from a variety of sources to prepare reports; and preparing and submit supply requisitions according to established rules.

Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
