Seeking Administrative Assistant for
Somerville Outpatient and Family Services
Riverside’s Center for Behavioral Healthcare and Family Services houses several programs including family afterschool, life skills, domestic violence, home-based services, and outpatient. This administrative assistant position plays a critical role in supporting the functioning of all these programs.
As the first-floor receptionist, this person is the first line meet and greet employee for all staff, visitors and clients to the center setting the welcoming and professional tone for all. This person also provides office support and administrative functions for the family services programs, while working closely with the behavioral healthcare administrative team. This position reports to the office manager of the behavioral healthcare program.
Some of the tasks the Administrative Assistant is responsible for include:
- Greet and direct individuals to the appropriate staff or program setting
- Answer telephones, screen and direct calls to the appropriate individuals
- Provide clerical support to staff, including, but not limited to, typing, scanning/uploading into the electronic health record, filing, mailing, faxing, copying and handling medical record requests, as needed
- Utilize electronic medical record program to help manage client administration
- Maintain and order sufficient office supplies for first floor programs
- Distribute mail daily to appropriate staff person/program.
- Manage and maintain phone directory
- Identify building issues that need repair and communicates issues to the Facilities Department
Schedule: Full Time 40 hours per week; on-site Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $20.00/hourly

Required Skills
- Successful candidate must be highly-organized, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible and personable
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills (including Microsoft Office) required
- Openness to learning new skills, particularly computer-related, required
- Previous experience in a mental health or social services setting is preferred, but not required
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years administrative experience required
