The Associate Director, Marketing Activation Livestock leads marketing activities including, but not limited to, sales force communication and alignment, marketing activation, and customer experience delivery within applicable species segments. This position develops and integrates new processes and establishes best practices in Commercial Marketing. The incumbent will lead strategic internal and external communication channels for the Livestock Commercial Business Segment. This role develops and executes annual communications plan that drives alignment across the Livestock commercial business. The position holder will liaison between commercial business and corporate communications team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partners across the Livestock business unit on product communications to include product launches, product marketing programs, disease awareness, industry events and other business initiatives. Includes media/PR strategy and activities, and compelling messaging platforms and narratives that will resonate with key audiences.
  • Establishes content strategy and lead execution of content for CRM channels.
  • Owns and defines consumer data strategy and activations to support US Livestock Marketing business goals and marketing plans.
  • Manages Data & Activation Plans through data collection, processing/data flow, and distribution to activate across all channels.
  • Leverages innovative digital and social media strategies to engage our external and internal audiences with our brands and positioning.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of industry trends with ability to create and adapt a flexible communications strategy.
  • Brings focus to our CRM system and corporate website to drive direction and communication efforts both internally and externally.
  • Executes cross- functionally within Local and Global Commercial and the various species segments to identify business opportunities impacting sales force communication and alignment, marketing activation, and delivery of the desired customer experience.
  • Leads and directs strategic initiatives and established project teams.
  • Allocates resources and oversees change management functions necessary to successfully complete assigned projects.
  • Manages and develops relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Works cross-functionally with IT, Brand Teams, Communications, Customer Experience and Marketing peers to share best practices and establish strong, valuable communications norms, gain support/buy in to deliver timely implementation of marketing campaigns, including digital.
  • Ensures messaging in commercial communications are consistent with corporate communications.
  • Influences Commercial Sales Reps through effective and timely communication and activation to meet and exceed strategic marketing planning and product positioning set forth by global and local Commercial leadership.
  • Establishes and delivers 'customer centric' marketing priorities and key initiatives, effectively uses resources, cross-functionally collaborates, maintains species segment focus, identifies, and eliminates inefficient processes, duplicative efforts, and roadblocks, identifies innovative way of working, and effectively partners with internal stakeholders across the network.   
  • Manages and develops relationships with agency partners and vendors to ensure excellence in delivery and a consistent approach to external communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.  Major in Communication, Marketing Communications, Marketing, or other related discipline preferred.
  • Eight (8) years or more previous Marketing, Communications or a related function required.
  • Thorough understanding of the marketing process with proven ability to support marketing initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience creating and managing content across multiple channels and brands.
  • Experience growing and managing data and activating it in digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels such as email, SMS, programmatic advertising and social paid & organic.
  • Experience working with Digital Tools & Marketing Technology: Understanding and experience using website analytics tools (preferably Adobe Analytics), data management platforms (DMPs) or customer data platforms (CDP) and website personalization tools (Preferably Adobe Target).
  • Exhibits excellent written & verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated organization, planning & project management skills along with solid decision making & negotiation skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate marketing needs and drive projects through to completion.
  • Experience working with business partners both internally and externally (agencies).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder relationships as well as collaborate and gain buy in from them in a highly matrix-ed organization.
  • Entrepreneurial drive with proven track record of exceeding financial and other quantitative goals as well as qualitative goals.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
