Summary: We are seeking an experienced accountant specializing in the insurance industry to manage and oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific financial practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance within company standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including premium accounting and expense deductions.
- Post monthly financials to corporate accounting database
- Assist with managing our captive insurance management’s reporting and accounting needs
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement financial strategies and policies.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the insurance industry
- Knowledge of insurance accounting principles and regulatory requirements preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The base salary range for this position is $57,000 – $77,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
