Job Description
The Accountant, Acquisitions and Dispositions serves as an essential member of the Accounting Department and is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of acquisition and disposition accounting activities including wire packet and HUD review. This role will also be responsible for coordinating and managing the accounting for the Company's property acquisition and disposition processes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.
Review wire request documents and flag discrepancies in accounting systems
Upload wire data to banking partners
Prepare and upload daily acquisition activity journal entries for management approvals/postings
Review HUDs for any planned dispositions-presale
Work closely with disposition team to confirm property has been sold
Prepare and upload disposition activity journal entries
Prepare and upload daily acquisition/disposition bank activity journal entries, such as escrow refunds, reclassifications,
Completing the Bank Reconciliation in applicable systems, and working papers in Excel
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Participate in research of accounting transactions such as month-over-month variance analysis
Perform accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close transactions
Assist with audit requests, including general audit inquiries, preparation of schedules/reports, support data and schedules, and testing of internal controls
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
Proficient in multi-modules accounting computer software (GL, AR, AP, etc.).
Advanced proficiency with Excel including Pivot Tables, VLookups and XLookups.
Prior property management or mortgage/escrow experience required.
Knowledge of technical accounting principles
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and shifting environment.
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and well organized
Self-starter: ability to work independently, prioritize and multitask
Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated, team player, and strong work ethic
Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
Must be a self-starter who is self-motivated and self-directed in resolving potential issues.
Exercises considerable judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Advanced knowledge of Excel; proficient in other Microsoft Office programs
Must be able to start working from 7:00 AM PST
Preferred Attributes:
Knowledge of Yardi and Triad would be a plus.

Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.
