NFP, an AON Company, is seeking an Accountant.
The Insurance Accountant role provides business accounting and general bookkeeping support for fast-paced specialty programs utilizing the agency management system called IMS. Primary responsibilities will focus on General Ledger accounting, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and cash account management. The role will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.
Responsibilities:
· Accounts Receivable – manage and analyze A/R reports, including aging reports, reconciling statements, and reviewing and processing return premiums.
· Company Payables – reconcile company payable statements/invoices and record disbursements
· Cash management – bank reconciliations
· Conduct billing, payment, and reporting activities within specific deadlines
· Document accounting procedures and policies
· Additional projects as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
Required Knowledge
· Microsoft Office Suite - Proficient
· Microsoft Excel – Above Average Proficiency
· Experience with various accounting software
· Proficient in working in web-based applications
· Proficient with research
Required Skills or Abilities
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Self-starter, self-motivator, ability to work independently
· Ability to be flexible and switch from one project to another when needed to meet deadlines
· Strong attention to detail

Education and/or Experience:
· 4-year (Bachelor’s) Degree in Accounting is preferred, finance and other business disciplines considered
· Company Payables / Receivables experience required
· Microsoft Excel proficiency required
· Insurance agency experience is a plus
· Experience using an Agency Management System (IMS preferred, EPIC, AIM are highly desired

The base salary range for this position is $52,000 – $70,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
